Just an observation but isn't it about time that all of those who emailed and called Chirpy every morning on his show went to his defence on FOBL & GS Board? The poor man is getting quite a pasting and some of it is nasty particularly on the GS Board ( I can't see FOBL but I have been told on good authority that he isn't getting any support.) All his former supporters seem to have deserted him and are praising the new schedule. I wasn't Chirpys biggest fan but I don't like to see a guy who has given so much treated like this sorry.

I know many of you think Roger Davis is a saint but surely you have the backbone to give Chirpy some support?

Yes I agree about the GS board. It is getting quite personal on there. Chirpy is a good guy. Ellie has known him since she was a kid and her parents years before that. He stayed with us for a holiday earlier in the year . It is a shame things have come to this but as Graeme said you need the full story, which I don't have, so I haven't commented on GS , not that I would anyway on the subject.

The trouble with places like the GS board is that people (mostly anonymously) jump in, take sides and throw around accusations without giving them any basis and I don't see that really helps anyone at all. I think it is sad if Chirpy has gone to alot of us long time listeners he was Big L because he was so supportive of the station even as a listener before his presenting. He was a good friend to me and my family. I still think there is a place on Big L for his type of show,perhaps in a condensed form,4 hours everyday 5 days a week was a big gap to fill,what I cannot understand why he is not doing his Saturday show,thank you Chirpy for all the pleasure you have given to all your listeners and the very best of luck for the future. Chirpy has always been a good friend to me and helped me on board with BigL. Personally I liked his shows and listened nearly every day in the office. However I don't know what happened exactly, that made Roger take the steps he took. I cannot imagine he took the steps lightly. By his own admission Chirpy said he made a mistake.

Sometimes it's best not to know details of a conflict. It's something between Roger and Chirpy.

I wish Chirpy all the best for him personally and his radio carrier, and I'll continue to support BigL as the great station it is.

That's how it should be but the public humiliation of being taken off mid show, followed by some very, very unprofessional comments, on various fora, attributed to Simon and Kev , have not helped. However you look at it, an error of judgement, by Chirpy, has been trumped by vindictive, unprofessional behaviour by others, who will no doubt chuckle together, without any fear of retribution.
We have now seen the true colours of those that run Big L.
Chirpy was, maybe, naive and outspoken, but he deserved more.

This is part of the mystery. When FOBL was down, every reference to Chirpy was removed including all of his podcasts.
Whichever way you look at it, whatever Chirpy said or did, there was a determined effort to remove him quickly and completely, far more than was necessary to del with the FSN comment.
I have heard that show, on Radio England International (on Live 365). Chirpy was out of order and unprofessional but the retribution appeared preplanned, swift and complete.

There is a strong chance, all being well, that he will be on RNI soon.
