I know I have loads of stuff on there which I have downloaded but haven't been able to install cos Vista has "hidden" it. With XP, the download box stays open and you can open and install whatever you've downloaded, however, Vista closes the download box as soon as whatever you have downloaded has downloaded and, unless you can remember what it is that you have downloaded, it is hidden away and probably never found again! (That's my experience anyway.)

Thats why you should install a "download-folder" (see above) on your desktop and all your downloads you send in there. FF always asks you before downloading where to. From there with drag-and-drop you sort your downloads into other folders like pictures, radio-shows, videos etc. etc. So you'll never loose any download
for your lost on ones click 'start' > search > give in 'downloads'

All well and good, but I still won't know what I have or have not installed!
just try - and you'll find all your downloads in that hidden folder i.e. you'll find the hidden download folder

Cable went off at approx 07.30 this morning owing to a server fault. I asked for another server but was unable to connect to it til this evening. Anyway, am back on now from a server "Somewhere in the USA"!

After major "open cabinet surgery" to my main computer (i.e. Studio One) the back up service (i.e. Studio Two) is running through the night whilst checks are being kept on the changes to Studio One.
