I've just transferred the "Radio Caroline North" programme to computer only to be told, after I had spent an hour and a half shifting it across, that the "Sound recorder has stopped working"!!

I DETEST computers!!

I'll try it again tomorrow night.

Meanwhile I'm transferring the last part of 1967 The Summer Of Love with Mark Stafford. I hope this works and I'll be late recording Caroline on 1368 from midnight.

It's so nice to hear 1967 from Caroline North's perspective for a change as opposed to Johnny Walker's "Fight For Freedom" blah, blah, blah.

No disrespect, yes, it was good and all that, but whenever the MOA is mentioned it's nearly always Caroline South and his speech which is mentioned, Caroline North isn't mentioned at all.

Therefore, for us who live in the North West of the UK and listened to Caroline North, it's nice to hear that she gets a mention for a change.

Totally agree chris...so interesting to hear about the behind the scenes stuff,especially how in its concept, it was quintesssentially english how it was set up and then radio london came along backed by loads of money and there to make money...it all makes sense now.

Never listened to the North ship much. It's a different feel altogether to how I remembered the South ship.
I wonder if there are many listeners in the North West, tonight?

Hmm, Manx Radio played Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" before handing over to Caroline at Midnight.

Almost as bad as when I played "Sympathy For The Devil" on Cable before handing over to the Religious programme!! (DOH!!) At least he saw the funny side of it!

I remember Caroline playing TWOTEF and dropping in the "3-1-9" jingle during the instrumental. Not long after that, the Mi Amigo sank.

I have that on tape somewhere, LORD KNOWS where!

When Caroline North was on 199 and they used to shut down at 8pm, I remember an announcement (Don Allen I think) would encourage listeners to retune to 259 and listen to Caroline South, so, even though I was only 5 or 6 years old, I used to and remember listening to a DJ called Rick Dane. I often wonder what happened to him.
