Before the trend of calling a Radio Stations frequency on khz, Manx Radio used to call their AM frequency in Metres, which was 219 metres Medium Wave!

100 metres down from 319, but tonight it's "Caroline on 219"

Yep. The M23 is the Motorway to Gatwick which comes off the infamous Motorway the M25 (as immortalised by the Chris Rea song "The Road To Hell"!)

These Motorways are the other side of the Country, far further away than Manx Radio's AM signal was intended.

I wonder if a deal can be sorted here??

Yes a very enjoyable evening listening last night especially Tony Prince. Living in the south did not hear much about radio caroline north but it did seem a much nicer ship to be on..comrade wise. A pity manx did not give caroline permission to stay or even come on land.

They wanted to and fought hard to keep Caroline North because of all the revenue they were bringing in by way of tourism, but the UK Government just wouldn't back down and let the Manx Government do so. It ended with a hardened attitude towards the mainland.
