I used to be on Fabehistin(sp?) but they were withdrawn for some reason. They worked well for me though.

I have had the allergy injections and they didn't work for me. In fact they made things worse, lol. Typical!

I've just instated my new notebook with players etc. and Cruisin'Radio works fine on it - great music !!
My regular pc had been caught by this "FBI-Virus" that claims that I had visited an illegimate page and that the FBI from Columbus/Ohio wants a fine of 300$ to unblock my pc. - I hope a friend of mine can fix it again as its completely blocked. - I was only googeling a page about htlm5 and there I obviously hit a fake page....
So you lot be careful ! - keep your anti-virus up-to-date ! - though I always did that (???)

I had an aparrent FBI warning e-mail which Hotmail put straight into my junkmail file. I was toying with the idea of opening it but after reading what you've just put I'm glad I didn't! An inner voice said "DON'T"!

good that you haven't - its very aggressive - and the whole pc gets blocked - nothing you can do then anymore.
I am now instating my players on the notebook - but thank-God I always had my FF-portable updated with all my bookmarks , Google-toolbar and all the settings - I only had to copy it on the drivers disc of my notebook so all works fine. but all my recordings , videos, pictures etc .(private files) are on my regular pc - I hope my friend can save it - would be a terrible loss....

I've done back up copies of just about everything that is on this computer onto a 500g external hard drive so that I can effectively take this computer with me wherever I go. Also, iif I do kop something like what you did, I've not lost everything.

Which anti- virus do you use Alec? I use Avast and it has been excellent at catching anything and everything out there. I back up a Norton Ghost Image of all the PC's once very two to three months on to a 2TB external hard drive- so nothing can ever get lost.
There are 6 PC's inc. 2 laptops here- 2 running constantly. Madness!!!

hi Arfa - I use spybot and avira + glary utilities (which also has a little anti-virus tool included)
It must be a quite new form of virus as all my antivirus-tools were updated. It even had activated my camera which was covered but when I took off the cap I could see myself on their page.
Strange - they also had advertisements (probably faked) from wallmart, Sony and Wallgreen (US supermarket) and a few others on their page next to the FBI logo etc. and of course a text full of paragraphs.
Yes I had made a back-up but its 3 months old and so a lot of newer files would get lost if my friend cannot fix it. - Esspecially all the RNI historic shows from the 70ies from Westhoff on GS-board and many others of course. - I was pretty active with recording lately also from Cruisin'Radio with the help of audacity-recording-tool.
But this friend of mine is specialist - and so I hope he'll be able to fix it. - I am using a netbook now in the meanwhile.
With the my FF-portable and a few other portable-programms on my stick I at least have all my bookmarks, skype,VLC-player etc. saved and can use the new netbook like my old pc.
with the same surface and everything looks alike.
So I hope for the best that my friend will be successful at least to save my private files..

At least I can listen to Cruisin'Radio, Cable962 and BigL's Cookie-, Paul-, Phil's shows

and afew others as well

My PC's run 24hrs constant [won't tell why] but I have tried most anti-viru tools and have settled on AVG.
I also run a cookie cleaner automatically every 8hrs plus a back-up monthly but if the clever boys want to get you---they will, no matter how hard you try to protect yourself. A simple method to stop rogue e-mails is to divert those unknown to another mail box and delete without reading instead of allowing them into your mail junk area. Also use hide ip to basically confuse the simple hacks.

Oh Alec! I feel for you! I had a really nasty virus waaaay back that altered all the master boot record, and the PC just died! I did fix it with an unpublished Microsoft command- something like fixmbr.... wrote it down somewhere in my XP book.

If you wish to remove it yourself- you will have to boot up in safe mode (F8) and follow these instructions:

Yes this "FBI-Virus" is very nasty and as my friend and also Robin Westhoff told me its only recognized by Kaspersky.
The problem is if you have it you can't start any program on your pc anymore - absolutely nothing works - so its quite a job.

I think his message is quite useful also for others who might get infected.
I am not sure who he is - but he is the guy who has all these great historic recordings in FM-quality of RNI and I think he is working for Dutch radio now something like an IT specialist.
So maybe its worth to save his message and LINKs for future issues as well.
Well - at least I'm forced now to put my netbook into action and get myself busy with the more modern windows-systems as I always cling to my win2000 which can do all what I need - But I want my dyno back !!!!
So I hope my friend who works as an IT specialist for BMW will be successful and I'll get it back at the weekend.

This is sad news Arfa ! - I've been a regular listener though not every day - Think about coming back maybe you should fuse with Coastie's cable - your style of music is much alike - into Cruisin' Cable' - so maybe even live shows can be possible and working together always motivates. - You both together would have an enormous collection of music to share with your listeners.....
- or maybe even a cooperation with Jacky Frosts' MAR ?
At least they have an FM output over the weekends
Would be a shame if Cruisin' would stop for good ...

I have been around in radio since the 70's and I find it increasingly difficult to get motivated niowadays.

Way back, the phone kept ringing and letters piled through the door from listeners each week.

Nowadays, you start a net station, and at the beginning the numbers of listeners are only low by comparison to back then... and slowly they all die away and get their fresh kick from another new station that starts up.
Roger Day will find this happens to him too unfortunately.
There are thousands of stations out there to choose from, and no matter how original you are, or how good- they simply move on to something else.

Radio in 2013 is a value-less commodity. Back in the 70's and before (and even in to the 80's) it was still MAGIC in people's eyes, ears and minds.
Most older people haved moved on to other forms of entertainment, and youngsters don't care for radio much at all- because of the rubbish on the terrestrial outlets, all with too many adverts, bland DJ's and constant repetition of the same songs.
Can you blame them? I certainly can't!

Even Caroline with a world famous brand name can only manage 200-300 listeners at any given time. And the net is their only outlet now isn't it?
Big L lost listeners over time too, and so do all the stations- sadly!

Nope, I can't see an answer! Radio is in my blood- perhaps I need a transfusion to get rid of it!

unfortunately you are right Arfa - thats why I think only a cooperation with other stations or at least one that has a terrestial outlet can help - at least you would have anoraks and Dxlers as audience.
Yes in former times radio was an adventure for the radio-makers and the listeners.
I remember as boy I pulled long wires as antenna all around our attics only to get a better signal of RNI near Munich with more or less success
Today we have an inflation of i-net stations which come and go and all the tease seems to have gone - well sometimes it is still there when I put them on my FM-tx and try to find out how far I get after an 'improvement' (very limited) of my antenna.
Also radio-listening has become more or less a back-ground thing whilst you do other things...
Us anoraks are a dying-out race - but is that a reason to give up our dreams ????
