I think the new tower still needs some adaptions because of the energy-loss with that kind of antenna - we'll see what they are going to do - On some KiWis or WebSDRs the signal has somewhat inproved though

Due the latest ‘rule of six’ restriction, we are unable to broadcast from our radio ship Ross Revenge. The number of presenters and support crew on board would take us over the limit. The September Radio Caroline North broadcast will instead be coming to you from our land-based studios.
Listen in on 648 AM in the South and South-East, on 1368 AM in the North and North-West, courtesy of our friends at Manx Radio, around the world online at radiocaroline.co.uk , on the Radio Caroline app and on smart speakers.
If you listen to the North broadcast on your Alexa via Tune In, ManxRadioAM doesn't work any more, due to being considered by Tune In to be outside of the UK. You will have to set up a 'skill' for either MyPlayer or UK Radio Player.

Yep, I can get it on my Denon tuner but just not on my Alexa.
Not sure on the depth but the Ross has a draft of about 19ft (below water line) and is well clear of the bottom. Going out on the tender is different as you have to meander a very circuitous route, through channels in otherwise very shallow waters until you get to the main channel. If the tide is too high and there is a bit of a swell, the relative movement of the lightweight tender and the heavy Ross, can make boarding difficult but if the tide is too low it may be a problem to get out of or back in to Bradwell due to the many and moving sand/mud banks. We had to wait in the cold and dark once when we left the Ross too late and had to sit on the tender for a couple of hours until the tide came back in.

Many thanks for the info number6. I can’t imagine it was much fun sitting on that tender for a couple of hours- but I suppose its all part of the adventure! I should imagine it wasn’t easy manouvering the Ross into the right position in the first place- with always the danger of it running aground on the mud/sand. By the way- you asked me for reception reports from up here in Derbyshire- and I must say- the signal after dark is now superb on my little Roberts World Radio - with no aerial-just the transistor!! When you consider the very low power used - the reception signal is marvellous. In daytime too its not bad - and certainly much better than Manx 50 KW- which is unreceivable day time- and very volatile after dark. If you consider we are about half way between the two - 648 KHz is consistently much better. By the way- have Ofcom approved the increase in power yet? A good argument would be the inferior reception in your target area after dark - i.e. during the upcoming winter months.

Mind, - 1368 is directional - so I think you're out of the beam - and it is only 20 KWs if not 10 KWs only ....
Hi Big John, No idea about any power upgrade. It is my understanding that the present tx is max 3.2kw output. Currently, I believe that it is putting out 1.6 so that after losses, 1kw is radiated, so not much more from that tx. A bigger tx 'ticking over' would probably use less power than a small one working flat out.
With regard to 'getting the Ross into the right position' it was towed in deep channels, see the map on the page in this link https://rossrevengeplans.co.uk/About/Cur...er_current.html . It went a very long way round so it was all well thought out and planned. They don't cut corners on this sort of thing.
